How to prepare cardboard boxes for recycling

You can learn how to disassemble boxes so they can be recycled by using this instruction.

Waste from Commercial Cardboard

The commercial sector is in charge of dumping millions of tonnes of cardboard each year. It not only harms the environment, but it also costs a lot to manage waste.

Why do so many businesses ignore the opportunity to save time and money by recycling cardboard properly?

This is due to a number of factors, but one of the main ones is that cardboard, especially cardboard boxes, can be challenging to recycle.

The two most common methods used by businesses to dispose of their cardboard are flat packaging and baling.

Flat-Packing

Try to get rid of any plastic remnants, such as tape, shipping labels, or packaging materials. You must remove that portion if the box came into contact with a liquid, such as oil.

Cut the packaging tape and flatten the box by turning it over and using a box cutter, knife, or scissors.

Baling

To reduce the volume and footprint of waste cardboard, several businesses utilize cardboard balers.

Simply open the door, turn the box over, and insert it in the chamber to utilize a baler. Activate the machine and shut the door.

Time is Saved by Recycling Cardboard

When it comes to commercial cardboard recycling, flattening boxes typically isn’t enough, but many businesses with lower amounts of cardboard waste stop at just flat packaging.

Any amount of cardboard will take up a lot of room in a trash can, necessitating more frequent pickups and ultimately raising your waste management costs. By compacting the waste, a cardboard baler conserves space and increases its recyclable value.

Keep in mind that three tonnes of trees are required to make only one ton of virgin cardboard. It only takes a few minutes to train employees on proper cardboard recycling techniques. Additionally, it might be financially advantageous for your business in terms of time, space, and possible sales of cardboard bales.
